Planning starts with a harder question: what is it all for?

■ How we plan

Aligned Symbol

We anchor the plan to what makes a life truly meaningful.

Harvard social scientist Arthur Brooks, drawing on decades of research, identifies the pillars that carry most of the weight in a satisfying life. Our four are adapted from his: faith, family and friendship, purpose and health.

Faith

Family and friendship

Purpose

Health

From these pillars, questions emerge: What gives your days meaning? Who matters most to you? And what do you want your wealth to make possible? We build your plan around your answers.

■ Beyond the number

We start with what your wealth is for. Then we do the math.

Our process begins with your family, your purpose, and what you want your wealth to make possible. The cash flow, tax, and return work follows, built around those answers.

Six steps, in this order

01

Discovery

Your goals and your full balance sheet in one view: assets, liabilities, entities, trusts, insurance, deferred compensation and private positions.

02

Evaluation

What you need, measured against what you have. We identify the levers available to you and define success in numbers.

03

Capital partition

We give each dollar a role: safety, growth, legacy or opportunity.

04

Implementation

Trusts, entities and governance put in place with your attorney and accountant.

05

Investment

The plan sets the portfolio, not the other way around, with a focus on fees, taxes, time horizon and temperament.

06

Monitoring

Quarterly reporting, an annual wealth strategy review, and a willingness to be wrong out loud and change course.

What the plan produces

The core portfolio

A tax-efficient portfolio that supports your life and your goals, sized from the plan rather than a risk score. It is diversified, liquid where it should be, and designed so that a bad market is uncomfortable rather than disruptive.

Beyond the core

Direct deals, venture and other investments that can lose their full value, held outside the core. The risk is taken deliberately, with capital sized so that losing it should not change how your family lives.*

*Private investments, including SPVs, secondaries and DSTs, are illiquid, carry a risk of loss, and are available only to investors who meet eligibility requirements.

To good health

Many of the families we work with invest in their health as carefully as they invest their capital. They value things like longevity medicine, the right specialists on callWatch on YouTube, and a private chef who cooks to their bloodwork rather than their cravings. A plan meant to run for forty years should assume you intend to be here for all of themWatch on YouTube.

Wealth that lasts is built one generation at a time.

With your permission, we bring your children in early, while good habits are still easy to form. The real inheritance is not the balance sheet. It is the judgment that built it, and we help you pass that on. We see ourselves as educators, and we explain the reasoning behind every recommendation.

A plan should do more than fund your goals.

It should connect your wealth to your health, your family and your sense of meaning, and put every strategy to work for them.
